Grosenick paces Sabre women's golf at UW-Whitewater

COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. - Marian University women's golf shot a 483 in the opening round of the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite and finished the two-round event in 15th.

Allison Grosenick led the Sabres finishing with a 226 after a six-stroke improvement between rounds.  Shelby Davidson was right behind her and also saw a six-stroke improvement finishing with a 236, while Sydney Clark shot 16-strokes better in the second round to finish at 250.  Abigail Waltmon was only able to complete the first round shooting a 113, which was the lowest Sabre score in the first day of competition.

Host UW-Whitewater won the event by 10 strokes over UW-Oshkosh with the Warhawks being led by the individual title winner Ashley Hofmeister who finished with a two-round total of 149.

Marian will close out the fall portion of their schedule with the NACC Championship Sept. 28-30 from Meadowbrook Country Club.
