Tough middle quarters costly for Sabre women's basketball

Paris Harris wins the opening tip.

MILWAUKEE - Marian University women's basketball (0-13, 0-8 NACC) fell to Wisconsin Lutheran by a final of 79-43 in NACC action.

The Sabres hung around in the opening quarter against the lone undefeated team remaining in the NACC only trailing 20-14.  The second and third quarter saw the Marian offense become stifled by the Warrior defense as the Sabres would only manage a combined 13 points between the two quarters.

The final quarter saw Marian gain momentum outscoring the Warriors 16-13 to close out the game.

Senior Rachel Serchen put together another double-digit performance scoring a team-high 12 points off of 6-8 (.750) shooting from the field.  Fellow senior Sarah Schultz led the way on the boards for the Sabres with seven rebounds.

Marian remains on the road traveling to Concordia Wisconsin Saturday, January 5 for a 2 p.m. tip.
